Two – How To Talk To Crazy People by Donna Kakonge – Broke in Uganda in 1996

Money is tight. It’s been months and I have received no money from Makerere. Fred told me himself that the university takes a long time to pay.

Though Auntie Zeddie hasn’t said a thing, Uncle Eddie keeps asking me when I

will be paid. I suspect he is hoping I will pay him more rent.

My Greenland Bank account is empty. I’m going to have to look for other work. Fred said he will try to get me a side job to go along with my work at Makerere.

UNICEF, in Kampala, needs someone to do some research for a communications project for children.

I really hope this will work out.
