The Dentist’s Chair

How many people enjoy going to the dentist? I for one hate it, but the dreaded day had come. I dragged myself out of bed, wishing I could cancel my appointment and sleep in. I figured I should suck it up and get it over with, so I headed to the kitchen for a quick breakfast and went back up to my room to get dressed. Not too long after, I was on my way.

After the excruciating long ride; I just had to pick a dentist across town, I arrived at the dentist’s office and sat in the tiny waiting room until my name was called. The five minutes I spent waiting, felt more like five hours with my nerves. Finally, I was called in. As I sat in the infamous chair, I was greeted by my dentist, a friendly but scrawny man with a balding head and a cheesy sense of humor.

As he began poking and prodding my mouth with his numerous dental utensils, I couldn’t help but think to myself, When will this be over? I absolutely can’t stand the despicable taste left in my mouth after it’s been worked on with pastes, washes, etc. It was finally over and boy was I happy. I rushed out the door and headed back home, I was free from the dentist’s chair at last.
