CanUgan — An Evening of Celebration‏

Dear friends,
I am delighted to inform you that we will be holding an evening of celebration on Friday, October 12, 2012.  The event will be held on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of Uganda’s independence and it will give you an opportunity to learn about the progress of the CanUgan Project in making a difference in the lives of persons with disabilities in Uganda.
The evening will feature a dinner and a silent auction and exciting entertainment. Highlights will include performances by Rita Carter, a popular singer and a song writer whose roots are in Uganda and by the Carleton University Music Ensemble which will present African music with drums, songs, and dance. Our Special Guest will be Hon Steven Fletcher, Minister of State for Transport.  The silent auction will feature Ugandan and African articles including handicrafts made by people with disabilities.  Other high-quality articles and enticing gifts will also be at the silent auction. A raffle of Ugandan paintings and hand-made articles will be the other attraction.
The attached announcement will give you more details and information about securing your tickets.  We look forward to seeing you on October 12th.
