Lieutenant Governor to Present Ontario Medal for Young Volunteers

Nine exceptional youth will receive the Ontario Medal for Young Volunteers — the highest honour a young person can achieve for their voluntarism contributions to the province.

This year’s honourees championed causes such as increasing access to education and community resources, enhancing safety in schools and increasing awareness of social issues. Each of these young people has made a difference through volunteerism and inspired their peers.

The Honourable David C. Onley, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, will present the medals on April 22 at a Queen’s Park ceremony as part of National Volunteer Week (April 21-27). The Honourable Michael Coteau, Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, will also participate in the ceremony.
