The Toronto Police Service would like to alert the public to an investigation into allegations of a Kijiji rental fraud.

Between Monday, October 23, 2017 and Tuesday, November 28, 2017, five separate people have alleged frauds to police concerning a condominium rental at 2200 Lake Shore Boulevard West.

It is alleged that:

– people responded to an ad on Kijiji

– they were met by a man living in the unit, claiming to be a real estate agent

– they were given a tour of the unit

– they all signed rental agreements and provided deposits for first and last months’ rent

– the man has since fled and did not have the right to rent the unit

Olufemi Abiodun Agunbiade, 33, of Toronto, who also goes by the name “Femi,” is wanted for these incidents.

Police have interviewed other members of the public who have allegedly fallen victim to this. Investigators urge anyone who has had contact with him to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-2200, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477), online at www.222tips.com, or text TOR and your message to CRIMES (274637). Download the free Crime Stoppers Mobile App on iTunes, Google Play or Blackberry App World.
