I went to a healthfood store called Evergreen up by St. Clair West and Bathurst Streets in Toronto on Sunday. My aim was to find some healthy food after speaking with a friend of mind in Montreal about wanting to change my eating habits.
I ended up meeting a naturopathic doctor at the healthfood store named Dr. Thalia Charney. This seemed like a blessing in disguise. She is an anti-smoking advocate, as well as extremely knowledgeable about making healthy life choices. Since I smoke, I have found her anti-smoking information on her website at: www.naturopathicmilestones.com helpful. We discussed candida albicans and going through detox methods for this disorder.
She showed me some great foods to eat that after I came home and cooked them for my sister and my niece, we all felt full of energy – rather than the sluggish feeling you can have after eating a meal. I had also supplemented my shopping at Evergreen with healthy shopping at Loblaws because more and more regular grocery stores are carrying healthy lifestyle foods.
For more information about Being Healthy, I have a book on the topic that can be bought at: http://stores.lulu.com/kakonged.
