Colouring Your Hair – Safe Ways to Colour Hair

In Writing (all kinds) on May 16, 2017 at 3:00 AM

In general, my rule of thumb is not to colour your hair if you can. Colouring your hair can have many, many damaging effects on your hair that are extremely visible until new growth of a good length appears that has not been coloured.

I know for everyone this is not an option, however I really do think that if you know the colouring of your hair is damaging your hair then you should stop the colouring of your hair. Henna has been known to do wonderful things and a woman once told me that she went to Ethiopia it was just a marvel to see all the beautiful Ethiopian women with Henna in their hair with the kind of pure light that the country receives. I do understand why a lot of people want to colour their hair.

There is also this woman who I did a story on while I was a journalist at the CBC who was an expert colourist. She worked at Civello Salon and used Aveda products which singer Lauryn Hill helped to make famous. This expert colourist really did a fabulous job on colouring the hair of many different people. It is worth it if you can afford it to spend the money for an expert colourist to colour your hair. This way you will also ensure that it not only looks good, but is also healthy for your hair.
