Toronto Police Service charges York Regional Police officer

The Toronto Police Service has charged a York Regional Police officer.

It is alleged that:

– on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at 4 p.m., members of York Regional Police were involved in an investigation in the Queen Street West and Lisgar Street area

– officers were involved in a foot pursuit of a male who fled from police

– the male was located at the rear of 1214 Queen Street West

– an officer from York Regional Police Canine Unit assisted in the apprehension and arrest of the male

– during the arrest, the male was assaulted

On Wednesday, August 24, 2016, Constable Michael Partridge, 35, was charged with Assault with a Weapon and Assault.

He is scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Thursday, October 27, 2016, 11 a.m., courtroom 111.

AFRICAN CANADIAN HERITAGE ASSOCIATION (ACHA)

ACHA is a non-profit and community supported organization, which operates a curriculum-based heritage program for families with children from five – 16 years of age. The programs objectives are achieved by including the seven principles of Kwanzaa in all the activities and events. The children are taught about the history of African people in Canada, Africa and the Diaspora. They learn this through the media of creative arts, classroom instruction and other real life applications.
