Let’s go to the Ex, Visit Communications Services while you’re there
Friday, August 10, 2012 – 2:10 PM
It’s that time of year again when the unofficial end of summer has begun with the opening of the Canadian National Exhibition.
For the second year now, members of Communications Services have been on the grounds, next to the 14 Division Sub-Station, speaking with people and providing information about the essential services TPS Communications Services provide. Between Friday, August 17, 2012, and Monday, September 3, 2012, from 11a.m. to 7 p.m., each day, staff members from the call centre will be on hand to answer any of your questions and provide some fun activities for kids of all ages!
The TPS VW bug will be on site, a children’s dress-up area with police uniforms, interactive computer game “Who Wants to Win a Million?” , “Ask a dispatcher” live tweet session – (August 17 and 27), and photo opportunities with lifesize cutout photo boards of officers.
As part of the ongoing proper use of 9-1-1 PSA campaign, information regarding pocket-dialing and misdials placed to 9-1-1 will be available.
Please take a moment this year and say hello to some of our call-takers and dispatchers. Come meet some of the people on the other end of the potentially lifesaving-line.
