TORONTO, Dec. 22, 2011 /CNW/ – In the spirit of the season, LOTTO MAX is offering a great jackpot just in time for the holidays. The draw on Friday, December 23, 2011, will offer an estimated $50 million jackpot plus an estimated 2 MAXMILLIONS prizes of $1 million each.
LOTTO MAX jackpots usually grow by $10 million when a jackpot is not won, but from time to time LOTTO MAX may also offer a special jackpot. That’s the case for the December 23, 2011, draw.
The most recent winners of a LOTTO MAX jackpot in Ontario were a group of 12 co-workers from the Penetanguishene-area. The group won $21 million in the November 25, 2011, draw.
Since its launch in September 2009, Ontario LOTTO MAX players have won close to $1 billion in prizes, including 16 jackpot wins and 110 winning MAXMILLIONS tickets from all across the province.
For each $5 play, LOTTO MAX players receive three sets of seven numbers ranging from one to forty-nine. Players must match all seven numbers, in any one set, to win the jackpot and the MAXMILLIONS prizes.
Players can purchase tickets at authorized OLG retailers until 9 p.m. Friday, December 23, 2011 for the draw that evening.
OLG is a provincial agency responsible for province-wide lottery games and gaming facilities. Since 1975, OLG lotteries, casinos, slots, and resort casinos have generated more than $34 billion for the benefit of the Province of Ontario. Gaming proceeds support Ontario’s hospitals, amateur sport, recreational and cultural activities, communities, provincial priority programs such as health care and education, and local and provincial charities and non-profit organizations through the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
