55 Division’s Project Garmin to be Scrooge To Thieves

Wednesday, December 14, 2011 – 3:56 PM
55 Division

55 Division has launched Project Garmin, a uniform and non-uniform project with a focus on the shopping areas within 55 Division, to try to eliminate thefts from vehicles this holiday season.

Constable Rob McDonald, 55 Division’s Crime Prevention Officer, offered the following suggestions:

1) Lock your vehicle at all times

2) If you are leaving gifts or any other valuable items in the car, make sure they are well hidden

3) If you see anything suspicious, call the police at 416-808-2222

Constable McDonald said, “It’s all about reducing the opportunity for a crime to occur and to try and make sure everyone has a safe and happy holiday season. Be a Scrooge to those who may be looking to ruin the holiday season for shoppers.”
