New-Formula Sico Cashmere Paint Billed

as Crème de la Crème of Paints

Longueuil, Quebec – May 16, 2011 – Sico’s best paint product just got even better. The leading Canadian brand has announced the re-launch of its top-of-the-line Cashmere paint, billed as the “crème de la crème” of paints.

Developed using a new, improved formula that still features innovative thermoplastic beads, Sico’s Cashmere delivers a gloss-free, ultra-smooth, luxurious, and now even more durable and washable finish. A paint and primer-in-one, Cashmere is unique in that its finish brings unprecedented richness and depth to the wall colour, giving rooms a breathtaking, designer look.

“Cashmere paint has it all – from deeper, richer colour, to increased durability, adhesion, coverage and hiding power, to built-in primer, stain resistance and ease of application,” said Dominique Pépin, Marketing Manager for Sico brand. “It’s a must for home décor lovers who want the paint colours they select for their walls to look and perform their absolute best.”

Ideal for living and dining rooms, as well as bedrooms, where flat, elegant finishes bring out the best of the décor, Cashmere is “the highest quality 100 percent acrylic latex interior paint Sico has ever made,” Pépin said of the virtually-odourless, zero-VOC (before tinting) paint, which exceeds industry environmental standards.

“A series of tests demonstrated that Cashmere covers 46 percent more surface than main competing brands, based on average results, which means a gallon of Cashmere is able to cover an area of 500 to 600 square feet as opposed to the industry average of 375 square feet,” she explained, adding the result is that fewer gallons are needed to complete a room. “Since the primer is also not needed when applying Cashmere, users not only save money but time as well.”

A paint and primer-in-one, Sico’s new and improved Cashmere paint delivers a gloss-free, ultra-smooth, and now even more durable and washable finish, giving walls a breathtaking, designer look.

Tests also show that the new paint has superior flow characteristics that make it very easy to apply, Pépin said.

Available in all of Sico’s paint colours, Sico Cashmere retails for about $53.00 per gallon and can be found at more than 1,000 retailers across the country. For more information or to find a Sico retailer near you, please visit http://www.sico.ca.
